TEDxBaghdad Award 2012 open
Deadline:
Journalists, entrepreneurs and experts in the fields of communication and technology are eligible for this award.
The TEDxBaghdad Award 2012, organized by non-profit organization TED, aims to encourage initiatives that may help Iraqi citizens improve their lives, develop Iraq and create an environment of creativity and innovation.
The award is comprised of two categories: The Innovative Technology Award and the Annual TEDxBaghdad Award for 2012.
The Innovative Technology Award will recognize the small and major initiatives of Iraqis to build innovative technology solutions for Iraq – mobile technology, robotic, open source and others. Iraqis are invited to submit videos demonstrating their innovations. The winner will receive a monetary prize and will be invited to showcase the idea on the stage of TEDxBaghdad 2012 on October 20.
The Annual TEDxBaghdad Award for 2012 will recognize ideas from those living outside Iraq (Iraqis and non-Iraqis alike) with new thoughts, technology, knowledge or solutions that can contribute in rebuilding Iraq. The winner will also present the idea at TEDxBaghdad 2012. In addition, the winner receive an official TEDxBaghdad award certificate, a free return ticket to Baghdad and a four-day all-expenses-paid trip to Baghdad.
The application deadline is September 15.
