The United Nations is seeking a communications officer for the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Food Security and Sustainable Development Division (FSSD). The position is located at the African Climate Policy Centre in Addis Ababa.

The successful candidate will perform duties that include designing and implementing communication strategy for the center, developing and implementing strategies to enhance the impact of ACPC and ECA's output, and planning complex communications campaigns.

Applicants should possess knowledge of public information and communication, and should also have the ability to address a range of issues in the context of political developments, public attitudes and local conditions.

Fluency in one of the working languages of the UN Secretariat (English or French) is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
