Upcoming: East-West Center Seoul International Media Conference

The third annual East-West Center International Media Conference will look at news and journalism issues in Asia, the Pacific and United States through the prism of new media.

It will take place in Seoul at Yonsei University from June 22-24; this year's theme is “Networked News: How New Media is Shaping Stories in Asia and the Pacific.”

Keynote speakers include Victoria Esser, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Digital Strategy, US Department of State and Yoichi Funabashi, Chairman of the Rebuild Japan Initiative Foundation, Former Editor-in-Chief, Asahi Shimbun, Japan.

Registration fees are US$300. South Korea residents – including foreign correspondents and others based there ­– can register to attend individual days of the conference at special rates. Korean-English simultaneous interpretation will be provided for most plenary and keynote programs.
