Wikileak to help journalists publish investigative pieces
The site Wikileak, popular for providing government documents and leaks to the public via the Internet, is scrapping the “wiki” model. Instead, it plans to pre-release documents to investigative journalists and publish them after the story appears. Since its initiation the site has been able to avoid government censorship because of a lack of knowledge about the servers and their locations. While many authorities have implemented laws to restrict government criticism on the Internet, the site has managed to escape such censorship. A spokesman for one known server, Assange, says the new model gives reporters more time to analyze and validate documents without fear of being caught.
