Deadline:
Journalists from Britain and Germany can apply for a work exchange program.
The George Weidenfeld Bursary, sponsored by the International Journalists' Programmes (IJP), gives British and German journalists the opportunity to gain work experience in the other country. Participants will gain valuable insight into the media, politics, economy and culture of the host country.
The journalists will work for three months at one of IJP's partner media organizations and will also attend an introductory event from October 20-23, 2011 in London.
Each participant will receive €3,000 (about US$4,200), which is expected to cover most travel, accommodation and living expenses. British participants can request additional funds to finance German language tuition.
Applicants must be between 23 and 39 years years old and contribute regularly as a staff or freelance journalist to German or British media.
German candidates are expected to be fluent in English.
