Reporters interested in Gonzo journalism can participate in a workshop in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

The one-week workshop, sponsored by the Norman Mailer Writers Colony, will deal with the life and work of Hunter S. Thompson and explain the essence of Gonzo journalism. Assigned texts include Fear & Loathing, The Proud Highway and The Great Shark Hunt.

The instructor is Douglas Brinkley, a frequent contributor to Rolling Stone and The New Yorker.

The course fee is US$425, which includes tuition and housing, but not meals and travel costs. There are seven slots available, to be filled by merit.
