Workshop to offer training in science for journalists
Deadline:
Journalists who cover scientific issues can apply for a fellowship and workshop in the United States. The 10th annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists is scheduled for June 8 to 13, 2008, at the University of Rhode Island. Application deadline: January 28.
The Metcalf Institute for Marine and Environmental Reporting organizes the workshop, and it offers 10 fellowships that include tuition, lodging and limited travel support. The workshop provides intensive training on scientific issues and inquiry.
The program is open to all early- to mid-career journalists, however applicants must be fluent in English. The organizers told IJNet that they welcome applications from around the world.
