World Press Freedom Day hosts teleconference on new media and politics [Worldwide]

A teleconference on the role of new media in the Middle East and North Africa will be held Thursday, April 28.
The free event marks World Press Freedom Day, which will be held in Washington D.C. this year. You can read more of IJNet's ongoing coverage and profile series leading up to the events here.
UNESCO Direct-General, Irina Bokova and UN Foundation Executive Director of Communications and Public Affairs, Aaron Sherinian will host the event.
It will explore the global role of new media in recent political events from Egypt to Tunisia. Bokova will also discuss Iranian journalist Ahmad Zeidabadi, the winner of this year's UNESCO Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize.
The discussion will take place Thursday, April 28 at 10 a.m. EST.
