The World Young Reader Prize contest open [Worldwide]

Newspaper projects that teach young people about newspapers and journalism are eligible for an award.

The World Young Reader Prizes honor innovative newspapers that have devised the best project or activity in the past 24 months in one or more of the main areas of young reader development.

Awards will be given in nine categories: editorial, making the news, newspapers in education, public service, brand, connecting with mobile, enduring excellence, digital NIE teacher and the Natasa Prize for Newspaper Printing Plants.

The winner in each category receives a prize of EU€1000 (about US$1,460) and registration to WAN-IFRA’s 63rd World Newspaper Congress that will take place in October in Austria. Judges may also choose to confer Jury Commendations and Special Mention Awards.

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers prize seeks to innovative strategies that produce measurable results, particularly those that can be adapted for use in other countries. Use of multiple platforms is particularly encouraged.
