A competition being held by the US-based Editor & Publisher magazine is now accepting photos published since September 13, 2008, for prizes including US$1,000 and publication in E&P's upcoming issues. Deadline: September 14.

The competition, the Annual News Photos of the Year contest, is in its 10th year. The competition is continuing its news, features, sports and multiple images/photo essay categories. But for the first time, the competition will accept entries in the following categories: unpublished photos on assignment, portraits, news site photos and video/multimedia.

The registration fee is US$35 for single image, and US$50 for multiple images and video/multimedia.
