  • Caucasus TV journalists cooperate on training project

    South Caucasus

    Journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia will meet up in Tbilisi and embark on a cooperative project on issues related to diversity.

    The Media Diversity Institute (MDI) is organizing the program, scheduled for February 11 to 21. The participants will gather in Tbilisi, forming a cross-regional team that will fan out across Georgia or other parts of the region to cover a chosen topic.

  • Global media meeting to be held in Malaysia

    International media representatives and experts will gather in Miri City, Malaysia, for a Global media meeting scheduled for February 15 and 16. The conference will focus on the media’s role in shaping people’s identities.

    The Sarawak campus of the Curtin University of Technology will host the conference, organized by the Media-Asia Research Group (MARG). The organizers expect about 200 media workers and speakers from Asia, Australia, Europe and the U.S. to attend.

  • Prizes recognize reporting on immigration issues

    Broadcast journalists and TV stations in Eastern Europe have until January 20 to submit their reports on immigration issues for an awards competition.

    The Germany-based CIVIS Media Foundation for Integration and Cultural Diversity in Europe is sponsoring the awards for young and experiences journalists. CIVIS works to help European media cover integration and diversity issues with more sensitivity. There are three different prizes.

  • Grants available for globally minded TV programs

    Television producers around the world can submit proposals for programs aimed at sharing international perspectives with audiences in the United States. Submission deadline: January 20.
