Media researchers, academics and journalists in Iran are invited to a conference that will dicuss the impact of the global economic crisis on media and new management strategies.

The gathering, "The First National Conference on Management and Business of Media," will be held October 6 and 7, and is being hosted by the Islamic Azad University in the city of Damavand.

Journalists, editors, writers and journalism professors in Belarus are invited to attend a conference on the state of journalism in the country in 2009, to be held December 3 and 4 in Minsk.

Panelists at a recent event on media in Haiti told the audience, in Washington, D.C., that journalists and media organizations in the country need more training opportunities, as well as proper regulation.

A seminar to examine newspaper costs and revenue will take place from August 2 to 4 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Hosted by Bucaramanga newspaper Vanguardia Liberal, registration is ongoing.
