Registration open for workshop on covering health issues

Latin American journalists have until October 6 to register for a workshop on the news coverage of health issues, to take place November 16 to 22 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Participants must work in the media in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Uruguay.

3D Web site allows journalists to monitor Earth’s resources

Environmental journalists worldwide can now use a 3D-environmental Web site launched by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and Google Earth to monitor environmental hotspots and the impact of climate change on the planet, and highlight this information in their stories.

Latin American, European experts to analyze the future of journalism

Registration open for seminar on law, journalism

The Argentina-based organization Fundación de Derecho Social will begin the second installment of its law and journalism seminars in Santa Fe. The last day to register, at no cost, is September 16.

Scheduled for September 18 and 19, the seminar will gather experts on law and social communication. The organizers will provide a certificate of attendance to participants.

Code of Ethics issued by Arab Palestinian journalists in Israel

The Media Center for Arab Palestinians in Israel, I'lam (Arabic for "media"), has issued a Code of Ethics, called "The Media Charter," which aims to both strengthen and evaluate the conduct of Arabic media in Israel. It was signed by about 100 journalists.
