Mexican journalists and communicators can participate in "PressCamp Mexico," an event that will explore information sharing through the use of Internet and traditional media resources. The event will be held March 20 at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

A Russian newspaper design competition, now in its sixth year, is accepting applicants. Deadline: March 30.

Categories include: Best Newspaper Design, Page One, Best Documentary Photos and others.

Both individual designers and teams are encouraged to apply. Entries must have been published between January 1 and December 31, 2009.

Print, radio, TV, or Internet journalists in Mexico have until March 12 to submit their best works to a national journalism prize.

The categories are: news; investigative journalism; in-depth article/opinion; caricature/humor; interview; roundtable/debate; guidance/service to society; science and culture; and transparency and access to information.

Ecuadorian communicators and journalists are invited to apply for the Carlos Crespi Communication Prize, which will award winners in five categories: video, radio, press, photography and Web sites. Deadline: May 7.

This year’s theme is “Protecting Nature: a life commitment," and the prize is administered by Catholic Communication Association (SIGNIS-Ecuador).
