The US-based International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) recently launched a three-year initiative to enhance reporting on agriculture and women in Africa and make agriculture a key subject for media. The initiative, "Reporting on Agriculture and Women: Africa," coincides with the release of a report called "Sowing the Seeds," on the coverage of agriculture and women in African media.

Radio reporters from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have until March 2 to submit short story proposals on social issues related to women and children in Central Asia. Stories focusing on issues in rural areas are preferred. 

The South Africa-based Gender Links organization invites journalist to submit articles on gender, diversity, elections and the media for the sixth edition of the Gender and Media Diversity Journal. Deadline: February 2.
