Villavicencio, Meta, will host the next workshop on coverage of Colombian, children in the midst of armed conflict, organized by Media for Peace. The workshop is scheduled for August 10 to 12.

Thirty scholarships are available for a workshop on responsible coverage of young people in the midst of violence. The training is scheduled for July 13 and 14 in Boyacá, Colombia.

Radio and television stations from around the world that participated in the 2006 International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) on December 10, 2006 can submit their programming for an award. Submission deadline: May 18.

Administered by UNICEF and the International Academy of Television Arts, the 2007 ICDB award seeks to honor broadcasters that produced programs relevant to the theme: “Unite for Children. Unite Against Aids.”

In Peru one in four children younger than five years of age suffers from chronic malnutrition. To call attention to this problem, a competition for journalists is being organized in the Huánuco region. Entry deadline: April 27.
