A new, voluntary code of ethics in the United Arab Emirates outlines a wide variety of responsibilities for newspaper journalists in the country, according to local reports.
Leading editors from Arabic- and English-language papers signed the code on October 1, the Gulf News and Khaleej Times reported. Those reports said the code addresses issues such as protecting anonymous sources and avoiding discrimination, libel and other forms of irresponsibility.
