Journalists who want to learn more about the interaction between the press, politics and public policy can compete for the Joan Shorenstein Fellowship. Deadline: February 1, 2009.

Asian journalists can now register for the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s 45th General Assembly. The meetings will be held in Bali, Indonesia from November 19-25.

This year’s meetings will cover the following topics: tourism and terrorism and the role of broadcast media in promoting peace and democracy.

European journalists have the opportunity to attend a series of press visits focusing on the latest developments and initiatives of the EU in its relations with Russia. The seminar will occur through a series of meetings and debates with officials, diplomats as well as with outside experts and Brussels-based journalists. It will be held from Sep 15-19.
