The Prize Yarima Santander will award journalistic works that expose the reality of women in Santander, Magdalena Medio, and the south of Bolívar, in Colombia. Submission deadline: November 10.

Candidates can send their best news productions in the following genres: column, reporting, or interview in radio, TV, photo, press or digital media format.

An award in honor of the late Anupama Jayaraman, a young Bangalore, India-based journalist who passed away in January 2006, seeks submissions from young Indian women journalists on issues relating to human rights and social justice.

The 2009 Anupama Jayaraman Memorial Award is open to Indian women journalists aged 25 or less working in or contributing to the print media in India.

Female journalists in Arab countries and Iran recently launched a campaign for female leadership in journalists’ unions in the Arab World and Iran at a regional meeting in Tunis.

Women from across the globe working in print, broadcast or Internet media who are committed to coverage of human rights and social justice can apply for the International Women’s Media Foundation’s Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship in the U.S.
