Editor’s Pick: Works to be proud of
Dear IJNet,
Two weeks ago, we asked you to share your proudest journalistic work with the International Journalists' Network. Thank you to all who have shared so far. The stories are incredible; I learned about topics including heavy metal music in Iraq, xenophobia in a South African refugee camp, street wear and politics in Iran, and the 1984 assassination of Indira Gandhi.
I encourage you to read the work of your journalist peers from around the world, and to post a link to your own work. In doing so, you will shed light on the diversity that makes IJNet such an inspiring resource, connecting you with journalists who live and work in both similar and extremely different circumstances, some on opposite sides of the globe.
And there is still time to cast your vote in our poll, which asks: "Does a foreign correspondent need to speak the language of the country he/she is covering?" So far, 61% of you said "Yes," and 39% of you answered "No."
Please also consider sharing your thoughts about the poll question -- speaking the language of the country you are covering -- through IJNet Answers.
Thank you for all that you do.
Best,
Jessica Weiss
