Free online course aims to assist the transition to a multimedia newsroom
Editors and other media professionals interested in learning how to best make the transition to an online publication can register for a free online course, titled "Leading an Online Newsroom: What You Need to Know."
Being offered by the Poynter Institute's News University, NewsU, the self-directed course is designed to be hands on and participatory.
Participants will learn from editors who have undergone the transition, through practices that have been successful on topics including: hiring the best people and restructuring a newsroom to accommodate a Web product.
The course is being sponsored by the Suburban Newspapers of America (SNA) Foundation.
