A list of technology concepts and explanations for journalists was recently launched by Poynter Online.

Included are terms related to web standards, programming, online tools, social networking, online advertising and basic technology. Individual terms range from the basic ("iPhone") to more complicated ("Perl").

The list was created in cooperation with Hacks/Hackers, an organization that seeks to bridge the gap between programmers and journalists.
